I've always loved being creative from an early age and especially enjoy painting portraits. What I really love about portraits is that special moment when I'm able to capture the true beauty and individual character of an animal or person - for me that is when the 'magic' happens! I work in many different mediums, just as happy working in oils, acrylics, watercolour or pencil dependent on what kind of image I've been commissioned to create.
I get inspired by a wide variety of subjects and also hand paint ceramics, which have been used in kitchens & bathrooms in both residential & commercial interiors around the world. Over the years I have worked on commissions for the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Liberty of London, Conran shop & The Royal Academy. I’ve designed ceramic tile collections and interiors for high end Architects and been commissioned to create many portraits.
I'm a qualified Art teacher however I see myself more as an 'Art facilitator'. From time to time I run online group sessions and offer 1:1 appointments from my studio. I’ve taught students of all ages, from 8 years old to my eldest student being 86. My aim is to always help you learn to paint and draw confidently so you can discover your true inner artist.
I teach most mediums; Water colour, Oils & Acrylics, pencil sketching, collage, also ceramic painting. My approach is easy going, with my primary goal being -to make creativity fun. I love that art can help us to express ourselves in ways that we may not find possible with words. Art can be used as a powerful healer and be a huge benefit for our wellbeing. I am happy to build a learning program to suit individual needs.
